Amanda is a cute little 12 year old brown throat conure. She loves to ride around on a shoulder of anyone confident and over 15 years old. She always uses her beak as a first foot to step up and has every time for the 6 months she has been in foster care. She had a cage mate for 12 years and has a tendency for other bird aggression/over preening them. Supervision is required for this mischievous and charming little girl if she is to interact with other birds. She may be tiny but as a conure she packs a wallop of a call. Conures are not the best apartment or condo birds with their strong voices and she lost one home already for this reason. She can say hello and good girl and has another 10-15 years of companionship left in her with proper care. She is eating Golden Feast food right now and loves fresh fruit and veggies.<br /><br /><br />5/12/14<br />Amanda has come a long ways in her foster home.  She now lets me take her to her cage without flying off.  She will step up now without too much biting.  She sits on my shoulder for extended times and doesnt bite my face anymore.  Given more time and love I think Amanda will be an awesome pet.  She doesn't bother the bigger birds anymore either.  She does love to floolw my CAG around on the floor.
